Remote Monitoring and Management as a Service

Remote Monitoring Management (RMM) also known as network management, is a service where a Managed IT Service Provider (MSP), remotely and proactively monitor client endpoints, networks, and computers. This is also referred to as remote IT management.

To deploy RMM, a small footprint often called an “agent” is installed on client workstations, servers, mobile devices, and other endpoints. These agents then feed information about machine health and status back to the MSP. This gives the MSP insight into client networks, provides the ability to keep machines maintained, and proactively ahead of issues, resolving them remotely – without the need to go out to a client’s office.

When one of these agents detects a mechanical problem, an alert (or “ticket”) is created and sent to the MSP, prompting them to take whatever action is needed to resolve the problem. These tickets are often classified based on severity, problem type, etc., helping the MSP prioritize and identify critical vs. non-critical issues.

In best case scenarios, MSPs are able to identify and solve issues before the client even realizes there’s a problem. This is opposed to the old break-fix model where problems grow and potentially create a snowball effect. Overall, organizations roll the dice more when opting to hire a break/fix IT technician continually. Organizations rely on these experts to address problems holistically and act in their best interests while fixing the occasional network problem, rather than solving problems before they arise.

A PROACTIVE APPROACH TO TECHNOLOGY & INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT

If there’s one certainty in IT, it’s that things are uncertain. Computers crash, software doesn’t work as it should, and problems occur. When they do, the way that you respond can be the difference between a minor hiccup and a full-blown business interruption.

RMM provides business owners and managers with 24/7 peace of mind, allowing you to focus on driving your businesses forward. We monitor your systems, apply patches, protect against viruses, ensure backups are performing successfully, and more. We catch and fix the little problems before they become big ones – in many cases before you’re even aware that there’s an issue.
