2017 is so close we can almost feel it, and with the new year comes changes for businesses in every industry. What food trends will be on people’s plates this year? Check out these three telecom trends that are predicted to be an important part of 2017 and will change the industry’s future.
Security
We saw a lot of data breaches in 2016. That’s why it’s no surprise that 2017 will involve a lot of security advances in the telecom world. Your company or nonprofit’s information is of utmost importance. That’s why the trend of beefing up security by encrypting the data is one you should be enthusiastic for. Don’t settle for anything less than safe and secure Internet.
Virtualization
Historically, customers were not willing to pay as much for software as they were for hardware since hardware is a tangible product, whereas software installations are virtual. However, as our world continues to adapt to virtualization in a myriad of realms, it is also becoming more accepted in the telecom industry. For customers, it’s important to remember this for two reasons. First, understand the worth of a software product you’re investing in; and second, don’t buy unnecessary hardware.
5G
Several companies are working on having a 5G network and are on the brink of being able to provide it commercially. For customers this means faster speeds, but don’t get fooled into overpaying just because it’s the latest development. On top of that, don’t sacrifice security or customization features in order to hop on the 5G bandwagon. This may mean waiting a little longer for 5G to become more universal before implementing it for your business or nonprofit.
