Salvation Army – The Seimon Family Youth Community Center

November 15, 2013

The Salvation Army is such a reputable institution, they don’t really require an introduction. With a worldwide footprint of 1.5 million in 126 countries, the Salvation Army provides services across the spectrum with thrift shops, shelters, disaster relief and humanitarian aid.

The Seimon Family Youth & Community Center is a perfect example of the breadth of work that Salvation Army takes on. Founded in June 2003, the Seimon Family Youth & Community Center is designed to assist, support and inspire all members of the community, from grandparents to newborns. The Center houses a licensed child care center, gym and weight room, arts & crafts room, computer center, classrooms, dance and performing arts studio, photo lab and a library.

The Center also offers living assistance to low-income families through its Family Services office. Family Services helps individuals transition into stable housing and obtain increased income levels. Services offered to clients include basic needs, such as: food, clothing, lodging, local transportation, rental assistance, utility assistance and crisis counseling.

BetterWorld’s own Ali Gunertem recently visited their facilities and met with Mortimer Jones, Executive Director of the Seimon Youth and Family Center. Here at BetterWorld, we’re excited to help support such an inspiring organization in streamlining and optimizing their telecommunications services.
