BetterWorld Telecom helped feed breakfast this past week to over 500 people at Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco!
Glide Memorial Church is a Methodist church in downtown San Francisco, famous for its gospel choir and services for the poor and disenfranchised. They currently operate 87 various social service programs.
The Volunteer Resource program where BetterWorld volunteered at Glide places about 10,000 volunteers each year, totaling 65,000 hours of service. Serving a meal in the Daily Free Meals program requires 60 volunteers each day in order to fill the breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts and over 750,000 free meals are served each year.
Carrying pitchers of steaming hot coffee across the floor, BetterWorld President Matt Bauer said, “It feels great to be able to give back. This is what it’s all about.” Meal recipients include seniors, homeless and those in need of a good hot meal.
In service,
The BetterWorld Team
