One of the cornerstones of BetterWorld is our ongoing commitment and participation in technology and sustainability education – see our recent posting from Evergreen College and many from last year at BGI – and last week we were fortunate to participate and help judge the DeVry University, Freemont Campus, 2010 Business Technology and Innovation Fair.
We saw literally dozens of applications, businesses and innovations that groups of students had compiled over the last 6-12 months as one of their final rites of passage through the DeVry University curriculum. After graduating from college, the next step in a young person’s life is to apply what they have learned to the “real world.” Senior students at DeVry University from various majors unveiled their projects and awards were given for best presentation, technical merit, marketability, elegance of design, project planning and team dynamics, and judge’s choice.
The majors that were covered in the competition included – Electronics & Computer Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Network & Communications Management, Computer Engineering Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Game & Simulation Programming, Computer Information Systems, Technical Management, and Business Administration.
For more than 75 years, the faculty and staff of DeVry University have been firmly grounded in the knowledge that knowledge alone is not enough. With over 90 campuses nationwide, they help students prepare for the real challenges in the workplace by bringing the real world into the classroom. And it works. More than 90% of DeVry graduates system-wide in the active job market are employed in their field of study within 6 months of graduation. We look forward to working with DeVry for many more months and years to come – for more information: www.DeVry.edu.
In service,
Matt
