The incredibly inspiring micro-loan organization Kiva celebrated 4 years and $100 million in donations this past week and BetterWorld was there to help celebrate their extraordinary accomplishments. Kiva “connects people through lending to help alleviate poverty” and has blazed a trail of widespread success for similar organizations with the micro-lending model.
The anniversary celebration was put on by the Hub Bay Area with a flurry of local vendors and musicians in attendance to help celebrate. 8 bands on three floors and local companies like Numi Tea, SKYY vodka, Barefoot winery, Arizmendi’s, and BetterWorld’s everlasting favorite lunch spot Cancun’s restaurant among others were there to contribute to the festivities.
The Hub Bay Area is a rich resource and community for social entrepreneurs and innovators located at the Brower Center, where BetterWorld Telecom’s West coast office is located. With over 650 RSVP’s to usher in Kiva’s extraordinary accomplishments, it was an inspiring mix of non-profits and businesses aligned by mission.
We’re honored to be working with people who are changing the world.
