Demonstrating the power of for profit and non profit partnerships, we were at a great event a few days back where Levi Strauss and BetterWorld Telecom customer Goodwill International announced their new initiative to lower the life cycle impacts of jeans by giving consumers advice on how to care for them and what to do with them when they are no longer wanted.
The launch event, which coincided with the 2009 Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) conference, was held at Levi’s flagship store in San Francisco & the initiative is called _A Care Tag for Our Planet. _ It will feature both online and in-store messaging, as well as a new care tag on jeans that encourages consumers to wash clothes less frequently, wash using cold water, line dry items when possible and, when items are no longer wanted, to donate the items to Goodwill.
It was great to catch up with our friends from Goodwill at the event including their great leader, President and CEO Jim Gibbons, and we look forward to seeing the impacts of this important partnership. For more information on the initiative, click here.
Tangled up in blue,
Matt
