“Inspired by Faith, Committed to Action” is the greeting that awaits you enter ICCR’s offices on the 18th floor overlooking the Hudson River on NYC’s Upper West Side. Quite literally, ICCR was the genesis of corporate responsibility and accountability & we were there this past week to learn about ICCR’s past and present initiatives, as well as to discuss BetterWork concepts and how that might help ICCR and its members deliver on their long-held commitment
For thirty-seven years, the ICCR has been a leader of the corporate social responsibility movement. ICCR’s membership is an association of 275 faith- based institutional investors, including national denominations, religious communities, pension funds, foundations, hospital corporations, economic development funds, asset management companies, colleges, and unions. ICCR and its members press companies to be socially and environmentally responsible. Each year ICCR-member religious institutional investors sponsor over 200 shareholder resolutions on major social and environmental issues.
We look forward to working with ICC in some way down the road to help them further their storied, historical mission & potentially to further BetterWork concepts into the faith-based sustainability movement.
