We are excited for BetterWorld to make the WorldBlu List of Most Democratic Workplaces™ 2009 list for the third year running! This year, forty companies are the annual winners of the WorldBlu List sponsored by WorldBlu, an Austin-based non-profit specializing in organizational democracy.
The announcement came as part of the third annual Democracy in the Workplace Day on April 14th, sponsored by the WorldBlu organization. For-profit and non-profit organizations from the U.S., Canada, England, India, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Malaysia made the list from industries such as technology, healthcare, telecommunications, media, manufacturing, aerospace and retail, representing nearly $12 billion in combined annual sales.
Company employees complete a survey evaluating their organization’s practice of ten democratic principles, such as transparency, dialogue and listening, integrity, accountability and choice on a leadership, individual, and systems and processes level – a company must meet a minimum score and criteria based in the independent assessment taken from its employees – a truly revolutionary process and tool for companies interested in adopting the workplace of tomorrow, today.
