Another inaugural GreenFest in the rear view mirror and what a wonderful host Seattle played – kudos to the Global Exchange/Coop America/Seven Star team for putting on another flawless event, hard to imagine a better team out there, and we’re just lucky that they all love to put on Green Fesitvals. Even though we had to compete with the Dali Lama on Saturday (he brought the good weather and about 150K people to Qwest Stadium), as well as a Mariners home game and the first really nice day of Spring – thousands still filled the Seattle Convention Center to expand their horizons of green business and all things sustainable.
Seattle Mayor, Greg Nickels, one of our great national assets in the fight for sustainability and leadership, led things off with a rousing speech and testament to all the amazing work he has performed at the helm in Seattle. We met and talked with dozens of folks, some looking to green their homes, some already with green businesses and some traditional businesses looking for ways they can join the revolution – but in all my travels, and they are far and many, Seattle strikes me as an edge of green thinking in our country, and just a wonderful, beautiful place to visit or call home. Already looking forward to our return there in the coming months.
See you soon,
Matt
