In a word, WOW! We stopped by the other night for dinner at our new customer, restaurant Locanda, and walked away feeling like we just dined in Italy. Founder and proprietor Aykan Demiroglu, has created a festive, modern atomsphere and combined it with an amazing menu that delivers from top to bottom.
Located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of DC, Locanda actually translates in Italian to both “sophisticated eatery” and “inn.” Aykan and Locanda have greened their supply chain and are practicing sustainable business: using everything from wind power energy (Clean Currents), recycled paper for menus, BetterWorld Telecom services – – as well as socially responsible cooking in keeping with the “green” theme of the restaurant, Chef Barsczc plans on using all local and organic produce, as well as meats and fish that are humanely raised.
