Our Visit to the California Autism Foundation

June 1, 2007

Probably the best part of our work at BetterWorld is that we get to meet daily and weekly so many amazing leaders and organizations affecting change in the world – – well, John Clay and the California Autism Foundation are definitely one example. While out at the BALLE conference, I had the fortunate opportunity to visit John’s operation (had met him at SVN in Maine a few weeks back) up in Richmond, CA. Simply put, there’s nothing like it in the US or probably the world, providing a holistic, loving environment for Autistic children, teens and adults.

As a social entrepreneur, John has developed a number of businesses within CAF, now including the San Francisco Chocolate Company, which is poised to open a new assembly line in CAF’s Richmond HQ. Too great a story to try and describe here – find out more: CAF and the SF Chocolate Company – btw, pix above are of John (love the Mickey tie), CAF’s school and the main facility.
